Idlers

Available in 5” and 6” diameters, CEMA D Steel and Impact Idlers are manufactured with Luff’s patented polymer endcap design, offering the ultimate in strength, durability and sealing performance. Steel shells are completely dipped in paint before assembly to prevent corrosion from inside. CEMA D rollers are built with a 1.25” shaft and 6305 bearings.

The polymer endcaps provide improved sealing arrangement, protecting the bearing from various environmental contaminants including dust and moisture. The Anti-lock Shield/High Moisture Seal is available as an option to further improve the bearing protection against moisture and contaminants.

CEMA D Impact Idlers are designed with reinforced end plates and round bar running the length of the angle iron to take maximum load and impact.

Manufactured for medium to heavy duty applications, Luff CEMA D Idlers use a patented polymer endcap design offering the ultimate in strength, durability and sealing performance. All CEMA D Idlers are complete with no maintenance SKF bearings and can include the High Moisture Seal for even more protection against contamination.

Drum and Wing Pulleys

Luff Industries manufactures industry leading pulleys fabricated from heavy schedule pipe allowing for improved performance and longer life. Typically, 50% thicker pulley shell absorbs more stress and protects against abrasive wear. The strength of these pulleys means less maintenance and reduced belt wear.

Helix Wing

Luff’s Helix design offers stronger pulley construction while maintaining constant belt contact, resulting in reduced vibration, less wear on the conveyor belt and quieter operation.

Wing Pulley

For self-cleaning action, customers can choose between a standard wing pulley and a spiral wrapped wing pulley, depending on the type of application and requirements. The engineered deflectors discharge material to the sides of the conveyor, while the spiral wrap maintains constant belt contact, eliminating extra noise and vibration.

Lagging Options

Luff offers a variety of pulley lagging including rubber, ceramic lagging, and weld-on lagging. ughtop, and Ceramic.

Rubber Lagging
50/60 durometer, shore A SBR rubber lagging is bonded directly to the pulley rim. Chevron, Herringbone and Diamond Groove are all available. Rubber lagging with a smooth finish can also be supplied. If grooving is required, direction of rotation is required. Rubber lagging prevents slippage by shedding moisture and adds a layer of protection against wear and debris build-up on the pulley face.

Richwood Redi-Lagg
Richwood Redi-Lagg is available in a full line of rubber weld-on lagging and ceramic weld-on lagging to cover most applications. Redi-Lagg-R has an aggressive tread pattern, providing a superior belt gripping power and longer service life. Redi-Lagg-C is made with the same industry leading technology used in Richwood Combi-Lagg ceramic lagging, providing 4 times longer wear than rubber lagging. Available in lengths up to 72” long and 1/2” and 3/4” thickness. Standard SBR and anti-static, oil resistant and fire retardant rubber blends are available.

Ceramic Lagging
Richwood Combi-Lagg and Combi-Grip lagging uses Richwood R2000LS premium rubber compound and ceramic tiles with raised nubs to provide maximum grip, preventing belt slippage. Combi-Lagg & Combi-Grip provide higher friction values, improved belt tracking, and eliminates ice build-up in colder climates. There is less pulley wear, minimizing downtime and maintenance costs.

Direct Bond Ceramic Lagging
Ceramic tiles are bonded directly to the steel surface using the patented MultoLag high tensile flexible bonding system. The bonding system offers installed shear strength of >25 MPa. The tiles do not wear, reducing downtime and operating costs. Drive pulleys use high density ceramic tiles with studs to maintain maximum traction in all conditions. The studs have rounded edges to prevent belt wear and dewatering grooves help dissipate water and dirt, to maintain belt traction in wet or muddy conditions. Non-drive ceramic tiles are smooth, reducing friction and wear on both pulley shell and conveyor belt.

Impact Beds

Impact Bars

Luff Industries has partnered with Argonics to provide several high performance polyurethane products to its customers, including the impact bars on Luff Impact Beds. These impact bars have been specifically formulated and engineered to absorb and disperse the force of impact in load zones, preventing premature wear and damage to the belt.

  • The kinetic energy produced by the impact of material is not amplified and returned (rebound), as found with standard impact bars.
  • Side profile, with compression relief channel disperses energy outwards.
  • UHMW cap is mechanically attached to the urethane bar, eliminating open bolt holes as found on other bars.
  • The flat bar surface allows for improved sealing compare with impact idlers.
  • Available in standard lengths of 18”, 48”, 60” and 72”

Slider Impact Beds

Luff Impact Beds are constructed for strength and durability; perfect for medium, heavy-duty and extreme applications. Custom and low profile designs are available. The unique frame design allows for the impact bars to easily slide out in two sections for more efficient removal and replacement, reducing maintenance and downtime costs. Luff’s impact slider bed center impact rolls reduce belt friction minimizing heat build-up and bar wear.

Take Up Frames

Luff’s Take-up Frames are available in a variety of styles to best suit different applications and requirements. There is Regular and Heavy-Duty Top Mount, Slotted Side Mount and Tele-take Telescopic Take-up available.

Industry Leading Warranty

Luff Industries Ltd. warrants that the products it manufactures are free from defects in material and workmanship, when used under normal operating conditions. The duration of this warranty is 24 months from the date of delivery, or 2,000 hours of operation, whichever occurs first.

If a defect is found to arise from manufacturing, the customer must notify Luff Industries Ltd. in writing, within 30 days from the date of failure before proceeding with repairs or returning the product. Luff Industries Ltd. will correct any defect in materials or workmanship by repair or replacement of the defective product. Luff Industries Ltd. shall not be responsible, under any circumstances, for more than the cost of repair or replacement of the defective product. Non-compliance of the above conditions can void the warranty and Luff Industries Ltd. will not be responsible for the cost of repairing or replacing the product.
